Jet Access has opened a new flight training location in Punta Gorda, Fla., in the newly constructed, 13,500-square-foot PGD Air Center. With the addition of Punta Gorda, Jet Access Flight Training has operations in nine locations across the country.
The flight training program at PGD Air Center uses modern, technically advanced aircraft and is designed as an accelerated fast track program to earning a commercial pilot’s license. Jet Access Flight Training at PGD also features pay-as-you-go recreational training and aircraft rental. The PGD fleet includes brand new Piper P100i, Evektor Harmony, and twin-engine Piper Seminole aircraft.
“We are excited to expand our flight training program to Punta Gorda, Fla., and appreciate the partnership and collaboration with the Charlotte County Airport Authority to make it a reality,” said John Mauch, Executive Vice President of Flight Training Operations, Jet Access. “Our strategic flight training model is designed to recruit and train the next generation of pilots by making earning a pilot’s license accessible, flexible, and feasible. Expanding our program to Florida will provide exposure to aviation career opportunities to the residents of Florida’s south-central Gulf Coast.”
Graduates of the program receive preferential hiring for flight instructor positions with Jet Access Flight Training and charter pilot positions with Jet Access through an internal Pilot Flowthrough Program. The flowthrough program provides training and employment as instructors, in addition to career guidance and mentorships with Jet Access charter pilots, preparing them for a professional career as a charter or airline pilot. The flowthrough program is an optional, added benefit and is not required for enrollment.
Jet Access recently announced a partnership with Purdue University Global designed for students interested in earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree while undergoing flight training. Students enrolled in the Jet Access Flight Training and Purdue University Global program may receive an up to 20 percent discount on tuition at Purdue Global.
